AISSMS Institute of Management organized two days National Seminar on “Industry Academia Innovative Practices and Intellectual Property Rights (IPR).” on the 24th and 25th of January, 2018. Seminar Event was inaugurated with lightening of lamp and Saraswati poojan by Shri Suresh Shinde-Honorary Joint Secretary, AISSMS, Mr. N.C. Gosavi – Head Strategic Resource Management -Tata Consultancy Services & Director Dr Sanjay Patankar and other participants. Director addressed the gathering and explained purpose of seminar and congratulated participants for their initiative for knowledge gain. Shri Suresh Shinde addressed the gathering by explained the significance of seminar theme and motivated all for carrying such events for knowledge transfer.

Seminar theme was based on collaboration between academic institutions and Research and Development divisions of industries which are key to research and innovation. These collaborations pave the way to create pathways to knowledge and technology transfer from academia to industries and vice-versa. One of the essential ingredients as well as outcome of it is the development of highly skilled human resource. Seminar has covered the following topics

  1. Industry needs and trends in research: from internal to open innovation
  2. Knowledge Transfer from academia to industry: best practice
  3. Joint Research & Development project
  4. Training needs and job opportunities in the knowledge economy
  5. Policies and government support
  6. Intellectual Property Rights & filing of patents

Chief guest Mr. N. C. Gosavi enlightened students on topic ‘Industry Academia Association and Success Factors’. He briefed basic skills required for employment. Second resource person Mr. Gaurav Ambedkar who is HR consultant & OD practitioner Guided students on ‘Industry Expectations from Fresher’s And Changing Role of Professionals’. Third session was of Mr. Rishabh Parakh who is Founder, CEO & Chief Gardner of Moneyplant Consultansy briefed about Corporate Opportunities and Essential Skills for Professionals.

On second day Mr. Ashutosh Prachand who is IP Analyst, IP Facilitation Center at Venture Center, Pune gave introduction of Intellectual Property Rights and Mrs. Archana Joshi who is   Asst. Manager, IP Facilitation Center at Venture Center; Pune explained the procedure of filing patents and discussed case studies of IPR.

The National Seminar gave many of those working in higher education the opportunity to connect with colleagues throughout the sector and to focus on shared interests in both the research and practice of teaching and learning enhancement. Seminar created an opportunities to hear experts from different areas of industry. Institute has received massive response from Academicians and students of various institutes who have taken effort to quench their thirst for knowledge. Certificates are given to participants in valedictory function. Seminar concluded with vote of thanks followed by National Anthem.
